Why can I only make a single map? The free account allows the creation of only a single map. If you need more, please click the upgrade button.
How can I use the coverage maps? Depending on your business, this can change. The coverage maps should serve as a reference point, not an absolute value. An example of this is if you have a coverage map that you had generated with the reachability set to the maximum setting and a customer was located across the street from where coverage ends, you may wish to send an installer out to check for service. But if another customer was 1/2 mile from the nearest covered area, then you may not even say you service that area. This ends up being a business decision that you will have to make based on the maps created.
Another example of using your coverage maps would be if your installers are not busy, you would regenerate your maps with a very non-conservative setting (the reachability at its lowest setting). This would show more coverage area than other settings and your installers could go out and do more possible installations that may be marginal normally. If your installers are very busy and you are a week or more out on installation times, then you may set this to be very conservative to ensure that your installers get only the installations that have the highest margin for success, thus maximizing the use of their time.
What Frequencies can I create coverage maps for? Currently you can create coverage maps in 900 MHz, 2.4 GHz, 3.65 GHz, Upper TVWS (470-698) and the Upper and Lower 5 GHz bands.
Can I render maps based on TV Whitespace Frequencies? Yes. Currently we support the Upper TVWS band, currently 470-698. We support these frequencies currently and are working to bring you the lower bands as they become more prevalent.
Do I have to download any data or install any applications? No. All data is updated and stored on our servers. This application is completely web based.
How long does it take to generate a coverage map? Most maps will take under 2-5 minutes; however, smaller and low resolution maps can take less than 1 minute!
Why is generating a map take so long and why is it faster on this system? Most maps start at around 14.4 Million calculations, on-top of extracting from over 1/2 of a Terabyte of data. Our system uses the latest algorithms, the most efficient calculation system, and the latest in Intel Multi-Processor systems. The PC system would take between 45-70 minutes per coverage map, where we take just a few minutes.
How accurate is the coverage maps? Providing that all of the data that you put in is accurate, the coverage areas are typically 95%+ accurate. Remember, that changes over time, new buildings, trees, and other factors change over time. We try to have the best data possible at all times as well. We also give you a few ways to increase the reliability of your coverage maps as well. A field called reachability is included in the coverage map generation process. This field, allows you to select how conservative you wish your map to be. The more conservatives setting, the less coverage area will show.

How long are the coverage's stored? Until you delete the coverage area or if your account is closed.
My maps don't show me accurate coverage information, what's wrong? Our system can only generate on map data that is put in by you. If your information is not accurate, then you will need to update your map and regenerate the map. 99% of the time, this is a field or other setting that was put in incorrectly. Multi-Coverage maps, allow you the ability to, with a single click, view multiple coverage's on a single map. It also gives you the special code that you can place on your website that will allow you to display your multi-coverage map along with an address search feature right on your website.
Creating a Multi-Coverage Map: Click New Multi-Coverage, create a multi-coverage map name, and select the coverage's that you wish to use. Once you click on create, it will take you to the new multi-coverage map. Once there click edit, in the edit window, at the bottom you will have the special code that you can add to your website that will include all maps in the multi-coverage map selected. It will also include an address bar. To preview this feature visit here.
Creating a LPA (Link Path Analysis) is very simple in mywificoverage.com. You can create a LPA for point to point links using this feature. You will need two sites to be able to create a LPA for, one site would be the transmitter and the other site would be the receiving site. The LPA will take all available data into account, including terrain, land cover (trees), reflections, as well as the curvature of the earth.
Click 'New Link' in the action bar to create a new LPA. Here select the sites, give the link a name, and select the antenna heights at each site. You will also need to enter your transmitter information, and receiving station information. You also can adjust using the reliability slider as well. Typically, you would want to use land cover and two rays. Upon selecting 'Create New Link' the system will generate your LPA within a few seconds.
The information returned from the LPA is quite extensive, it shows all variables that you put in, including the transmitter and receiving sites GPS locations, it also shows their ground elevation and heights of your antennas above ground. some of the important information would include the Azimuth and tilt of both ends, giving you a very accurate way of aiming your antennas. The propagation system lists your free space loss, obstruction and other losses associated with the link. If you turn up the reliability slider, you should see increase in statistical losses. The Performance section lists the distance of the link, your EIRP based on the system that was inputted, as well as what the received signal will be.
The instant Link Path Analyses or ILPA, give you the ability to perform a path analysis using data already entered in a coverage map. To use this feature, select or view one of your coverage maps. Upon opening a coverage map, you can click anywhere in the map, and a 'pin' will be placed. You can zoom in or out as needed, to get as an accurate place mark as possible.
Upon placing your 'pin' you can then click the 'Instant Path Analysis' button above the map. A site will be created, it will be named S-monthdate, an example for a ILPA that was created on February 28th, the site name would be S-Feb28. This site will be located at the 'pin' location. A Link will also be created, this time it will use data from the coverage map, this data will be the coverage map height, the client height will be used for the new site, and the system parameters will be defined from the coverage map.
The link will be generated in few seconds and once complete you can click on it. This will give you a LPA just like the above section, based on the system and heights in the coverage map, as well as based on a new site that was created instantly form the map. Once here, you can update, change names, or edit the link just like any other link.
The Multi-Instant Link Path Analysis performs the same function as the Instant Link Analysis, however is used on multi-coverage maps. On the these maps there are a number of towers located on a single map, in this instance, we use the data from each coverage map to perform the analysis. Simply place a 'pin' somewhere on your map, and then click Instant Path Analysis. This system will find the 6 (six) closest sites on the Multi-Coverage map, and then perform a Link Analysis on each one, delivering a shortened version of the Path Analysis to you browser within seconds.
At the bottom of your multi-coverage map, a piece of HTML code is included. This code can be placed on your website and our site will display the multi-coverage map selected right on your website. Note this feature does require you to maintain a premium account.

The data collection feature allows end users that visit your webpage to enter information such as their address, phone number and other contact information prior to viewing your multi-coverage map. Upon enabling this feature, the end users must enter this information, then the address they enter will be "geocoded" and displayed along with your multi-coverage map. Upon the end user completing this process, an e-mail will be generated and sent to the e-mail address on your account. This e-mail will not only contain a copy of all end user submitted information, but also will locate the customers address, and include the 6 (six) closest tower sites in your map with a link path analysis. All INSIDE the e-mail within seconds of the customer submission!

Once the customer submits the information, they will be presented with the multi-coverage map with a PIN on their address.
How to Implement the data-collection System
Several things need to be done to use this system.
1. Enable Data collection on your account. Do so by viewing "My Account" settings under mywificoverage.com. This checkbox enables the feature.
2. Verify that the e-mail address in the account information window is where you wish to have e-mail's sent.
Once those two things are done, simply take the iframe code from the multi-coverage map, and enter that on your website. With that the system should be live on your webpage.
We have the ability for you to add common radio systems to your account. A Radio System includes all information for the transmission site, including radio power, antenna gain, type of antenna, antenna direction, and tilt. We also take into account the receiving station, the gain, average client height, as well as the system performance information including the rx threshold.
To create new radio systems, use the Radio Systems menu item at the top of the webpage. This will allow you to create Radio Systems for your account. Any radio systems that starts with a TC: are systems created by the TowerCoverage team.
Once you create these radio systems, you can quickly apply the radio system to a coverage map by selecting the coverage map dropdown. The site to plot gives you a Drop down on the new/edit coverage page. This allows you to quickly create coverage's with common system parameters.
TowerCoverage.com operates public coverage maps showing coverage's. When you create a multi-coverage map, there is a option called "public" By checking this option you will authorize TowerCoverage.com to add your multi-coverage map to the public maps. Currently we have two, North America and Europe. We generate this map as needed and then it will show your coverage area along with the information in your account details page on a PIN on the map. This will allow end users to be able to find coverage in their area along with contact information. Users can also enter their address into the address bar and geo-locate their address. Once the end user zoom's in enough, the actual multi-coverage map that you generated wil be populated for a high-resolution look of your coverage area.
